Referrals and Authorizations

MED3OOO Utilization Management staff monitors all services that require prior authorization for medical appropriateness and use of an in-network provider.  Referral tracking reports are developed and distributed to your IPA on a monthly basis.  These useful reports aid the IPA in ensuring that patients are getting the care they need when they need it.  In order to expedite the processing of referrals and authorizations, MED3OOO provides on-line, real-time referral request capabilities through a secure web portal.  Your providers can request authorizations and receive automated decisions in real time through the use of this portal, thereby streamlining care delivery to their patients.  They can also track the status of authorizations at any time during the day.  In addition, MED3OOO accepts hard copy referral requests from your providers through a dedicated fax line.  Our standard authorization turnaround time for hard copy referral requests is two (2) days.
