Every evening, MED3OOO performs full data back-ups to tape, which are stored safely off-site. The power to our database and application servers is protected by a combination of battery backups and generators. MED3OOO’s primary data centers are protected by redundant power, cooling and network connections. A failure in any of these systems will cause the automatic failover to the appropriate counterpart. To supplement this standard level of protection, MED3OOO has contracted with Sungard Availability Services to provide a total disaster recovery environment. Through this arrangement, Sungard will deliver identical replacement servers to any location in the U.S. (typically another MED3OOO facility or a Sungard facility) within 48 hours of notification. In the event that a MED3OOO primary data center is totally destroyed by a natural disaster or act of terrorism, the Sungard service ensures that the data center can be relocated and reconstructed within 48 hours.
