College of American Pathologists Selects PSA as Exclusive Pathology Coding Resource

Florence, SC – Pathology Service Associates, LLC (PSA), a MED3OOO company with a nationwide network affiliation providing business services and support to independent pathology practices, has entered into an Agreement with the College of American Pathologists (CAP) to offer PSA’s Pathology Coding Assistance to CAP members at a discounted rate. PSA’s Pathology Coding Assistance will provide timely responses to pathology-related CPT coding inquiries.

CAP, with its more than 17,000 pathologist members, serves the laboratory community throughout the world. CAP selected PSA as a preferred provider for prompt (1 to 2 business days), written, standards-based guidance on CPT coding questions from CAP members. “The College selected PSA to supply this new service to our members,” said Robert L. Breckenridge, MD, FCAP, Chair, CAP Council on Membership and Professional Development. “After our review we felt PSA had demonstrated the ability to provide timely quality responses that include citations from authoritative documentation to a broad range of pathology CPT coding inquiries.”

“PSA is pleased to extend our coding compliance expertise and resources to pathologists nationwide,” said Laura Chaney, PSA Vice President of Finance and Operations. “Subscribers to PSA’s Pathology Coding Assistance, which will be available later this year, will have the opportunity to consult with PSA’s certified professional coders, access CPT coding resources, and receive timely responses to their coding questions.”
